Been a long time since this blog is updated, so I shall just do some random posting.

Anyway, let me just share why i love gy!

dizi.
peiyun- she is a really good leader who goes "guanyue! shhhh" during combine practices. haha. and without her, guanyue will probably fall :(
james- he can play bang di, qu di and xiao, haha.
huifang- she loves playing a va mountain with her lips trembling as though she just ate shaker fries. haha. but she's a gd person ah ;)
lambert- he will, someday, treat us eat lambchop and he has a really cute "suspected" affair with snowwhite. haha.
jupeng- he loves to eat porriage plus fishball when he is at the downtown foodcourt. :D
others- because dizi is a really difficult instrument so if they can master it, they must be really gd! haha.

suona.
jingyang- he can play both zhongyin and gaoyin suonas! hahahah!
weiquan- who has a more impressive nickname than him? QUAN GE LEH! haha.
darren- only sec 1, and he is already like very very, FULL OF POTENTIAL!
kailynn- only she has a super big mouth to say out my "secret".
others- got others not ah? haha.

sheng.
zhaode- WHERE HAVE U BEEN AH? BEIJING REALLY THAT ATTRACTIVE MEH? anyway zhaode is great because he is the only who will "cedric! LEND ME UR PHONE" during combine, hehe.
yiting- she will nvr evr evr move even after u tell her to move when playing sheng for nan er dang zhi qiang. but her basic techniques for sheng not bad :D
tricia- she is a o2jam pro!!! haha. and she learn like really really fast O_O (but not very fast (but considerably fast (but not that fast)))hahha
shirley- simply because she loves visited escape's haunted house, haha.
pamela- she can play guzheng as well, not only sheng! :D

guan.
yusen- he is crappy and loves to go check out on other's "secrets" haha. and guolaoshi once said something like he is a fast learner? LOL.
niannian- he can go MIA for a long time, and out of nowhere, come back again. haha.

Our Instruments

Dizi
Three main types of dizi are frequently used in the wind section: the bangdi, the qudi, and occasionally the koudi. The bangdi is shorter in length and smaller in diameter and produces a clear and bright tone. It is frequently used in bangzi opera of Northern and southern China, hence the name bangdi. The longer and thicker qudi produces a richer and mellower tone. The qudi is usually a fourth higher in pitch than the bangdi. The koudi is the highest-pitched of all dizis.

Sheng
The sheng is a Chinese free-reed bamboo mouth organ. The earliest type ever recorded in history had 14 pipes and was discovered in Zeng Houyi's tomb in Hubei province. The most common types of sheng today include a 17-pipe instrument and a modified version for contemporary compositions, which has an expanded range of 21-37 pipes. The tone of the sheng is lucid and bright. It has a huge range, a chromatically complete scale and is able to produce chord voicings.

Suona
The tone produced by suona is loud, piercing and uplifting, thus it is usually used to perform vibrant and lively pieces. However, its repertoire also includes some mellower pieces. The suona is commonly used as an accompaniment in the Chinese opera, singing or dancing, but also for more sombre occasions, such as during a traditional Chinese funeral procession. It is also utilised in solos or ensembles for various occasions and ceremonies.
